Oral and Maxillofacial surgery is a type of procedure for treating various diseases and injuries/blows to the head, neck and jaw. It can also be conducted to correct Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) disorder, a painful affliction of the jaw joint that can be caused by a variety of medical problems.
Most common oral surgical procedures are surgical extraction of teeth. These include surgical removal of wisdom teeth to other buried and impacted teeth like canines; premolars and supernumerary teeth.
