Dr Tan received his Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Surgery in 1989 from the University of Singapore. After the completion of his service with the Singapore Armed Forces he served as a Dental Officer in the Ministry of Health until 1992.

Following that, he went to Chicago to obtain his Master of Science and Certificate in Prosthodontics at the Northwestern University School of Dentistry. During that time, in partnership with the American Dental Association, he completed his thesis & in 1994, was awarded the Master of Science (MS) and the Certificate in Prosthodontics (Cert Prosthodontics). In 2006, Dr Tan was admitted as a Fellow in the Academy of Medicine, Singapore and is a Registered Specialist in the field of Prosthodontics.

Dr Tan is a Senior Adjunct Lecturer in the faculty of dentistry, Department of Restorative Dentistry, NUS. He has been active in education in the region and has published several abstracts and research papers in peer-reviewed journals like the Journal of Prosthodontics & the International Journal of Prosthodontics.

Dr Tan joined RCOLL as a partner in 2002. His area of focus is on implant, aesthetic and complaex restorative dentistry, including providing “Teeth in a day” implant solutions along with his team of oral and periodontal surgeons.
